Black Geometric Accent Wall

Easy DIY Accent Wall!

Our front living room had this weird bumped out wall that just never felt complete. After a little bit of negotiating, I talked Kyle into putting built -ins in the indented sides and creating a fun accent wall in the middle. I don't have full video on the built-ins because that was part of the deal... if you don't make me film it all, I'll do the built-ins :-)

Tools:

I do have a lot of it documented on Instagram, just not all of it. You can find more detail on the built-ins here.

We used MDF to build the sides and base

We built the doors for the bottom cabinet

We made the shelves out of 2 inch thick select pine boards

For the accent wall, we painted the wall first using Cracked Pepper by Behr, we also sprayed the lattice boards in the garage.

After they were installed (the pattern is completely random) we filled the nail holes and then touched up those spots.

I find painting the wall first much easier than doing it after so you don't have to cut in at every corner. For more details on the accent wall, click here.

Here is the final result. All of the details can be found on my instagram account. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
