Front Door Facelift

You guys! We finally did it! I revamped our front door and I couldn’t be happier. If this doesn't give a statement when you walk up to it then I don’t know what does. I’m obsessed with the color and the boldness. I seriously couldn’t love it more.

Honestly, I have hated this red front door the whole time we have been in this house. It didn’t feel like us, and it really needed a facelift regardless. When I was trying to decide what to do, I knew finding the right paint would make all the difference. That’s why I was sold when I found Modern Masters Front Door Paint and Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3® primer.

If you’re looking for a quick weekend project that packs a major punch, look no further than re-painting your own front door! The entire project was less than $100 and I can’t get over how different it looks!

The entire project was beginner level and just a few simple steps. I started by disassembling all the hardware, the old house numbers, old door knocker, etc. Then I used wood filler for all the old holes, and sanded down the entire door. This was probably the most time consuming part of the project!

Second, I primed the door and frame to get it ready for the paint. It was a hot weekend here, so the primer and paint all dried really quickly. I was able to paint the door pretty quick after the primer was on, and then applied the second coat after that.

All in all it was 3 times painting, but it didn’t take too long!

After using this paint I can honestly say the combo is fantastic, and I couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out! You can find it at your local Home Depot or Star Scenic or online through Amazon, or Paint Supply.

Leave any questions you have below and I’ll be more than happy to answer them!
